Since the release of OS X 10.5 Leopard, Preview included some additional features. Unfortunately, the next two Preview tricks are Leopard only.
When you need to change the size of an image for a webpage, to fit into a collage or any other reason, its called resizing. Here’s how to do it:
Step 1. Open an image in Preview.
Step 2. Select Tools and Adjust Size.
Step 3. Change your size as you need. You may also change the measurement units if you need.
Note: Scale proportionally means the image will be locked to its original proportions so you don’t get the “fun-house mirror” effect when you enlarge or reduce. Uncheck the box if this is something you want.
Step 4. Press OK when ready to resize.
