Step 6: Set up Thunderbird to send emails.
- Click on Tools from the Menu Bar and Choose Account Settings.
- Now, toward the bottom of the left hand side, choose “Outgoing Server (SMTP)”.
- On the right side, Select the Webmail option.

- Click Edit.
- Change the Description to something useful like: (Username)@yahoo.com
- Change the Port to 1025. (Remember, we set the SMTP port to 1025 in step 4).
- Enter your email account in the Username field.
- Click OK.
- Now, in the Account Options screen, click on the Web Mail option for this account:

- On the right, click on the Outgoing Server and choose the one you just edited.
- (You may not have to change this if it is set as the default SMTP server).
Step 7: Sending a test email.
- Click on the Write icon.
- Now, compose a test email to send to the same email account.
- Click OK and send your email.
- Lastly, Click on Get Mail to see your test email went through properly.
If it did, congratulations, everything was set up properly! If you have more email accounts either with Yahoo! or another supported email provider, repeat these steps to set them up as well.
