Step 4: Adjusting the WebMail plugin settings.

- On the Menu Bar click Tools and choose Add Ons.
- Choose the WebMail plugin and click Preferences.
- Change the port numbers to the following:
- 1110 for POP, 1025 for SMTP, and 1143 for IMAP.

- OS X blocks ports below 1024, that’s why we choose the higher port numbers.
- Click on the little green plus icon and the plugin will start.

Step 5: Add your Yahoo! account.

- On the Menu Bar, click Tools and choose Account Settings.
- Now, towards the bottom left of the screen that came up, choose Add Account.
- A new menu dialogue will pop up.

Thunderbird Account Settings

- Choose Web Mail for the account type.
- Enter your name and then the email address of the Yahoo! account.
- Verify the username for your Yahoo! account.
- Make sure you added the “@yahoo.com” to the end!
- Finish creating the account.
- On the Account Settings screen, select Server Settings on the left.
- At the top of the Server Settings menu, check if the port number is set for 1110 for POP.
- Change it to 1110 if it is not:

Thunderbird POP Port Settings

- You may need to restart Thunderbird again to get it to work, it seems like I had to..
- After you Restart, you will be prompted for your password.
- If all goes well, you should be receiving your emails.
